Marqués de la Concordia is named after one of Spain’s most eminent historical figures. Don Jose Abascal was granted this prestigious title in 1812 by King Fernando VII in recognition of his work in unifying the New World with the Old in the Americas during his position of viceroy of Peru.
This personal heritage of merit, excellence and progress is at the core of our Rioja fine wines.
Made with Tempranillo grapes only, “Spain’s noble grape”, Marqués de la Concordia Rioja is the only brand to age its wines in a combination of new French and American oak barrels. The short ageing and the ripened grapes enhance the fruitiness over the oak in order to deliver a flagship range of new Rioja wines, bold and fruit driven, new world style using only the finest grapes.
